Project Aldrin-Purdue:

an Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering capstone research project calculating the feasibility and requirements for Buzz Aldrin's plan for human colonization of Mars. This research and study was done according to Buzz’s 2013 book Mission to Mars: My Vision for Space Exploration.

A small group of Computer Graphics Technology students, me included, worked with a design group of AAE 45000: Senior Spacecraft Design to produce footage visualizing Buzz Aldrin's theory for Mars colonization. This footage was to be included in the AAE students’ final presentation with Buzz Aldrin present. We collaboratively modeled elements of the Aldrin Cycler and human lander ("HuLa") based from the AAE students' CAD drawings originally created in CATIA. We also animated landers attaching to a rocket docking with the Aldrin Cycler, then entering "Hyperbolic Rendezvous" according to a storyboard laid out by the AAE video project students.
